Community Guidelines
What we expect from everyone on Servd, and how we enforce.
The Spirit
Servd is a place where people share what they're eating, where they're eating, and what tastes great. Our goal is a community where being curious about food is celebrated and where every member feels welcome at the table.
These guidelines describe what we expect, what crosses the line, and how we enforce.
What We Encourage
- Honest, specific, and kind reviews of dishes and restaurants.
- Beautiful + truthful photos of food you actually ate.
- Useful flavor reactions, dish recommendations, and group decisions for friends.
- Curiosity across cuisines, regions, and traditions you might not be familiar with.
- Crediting the chefs, owners, and traditions behind the dishes you love.
What We Don't Allow
The following content and behavior is prohibited on Servd. Posts violating these rules may be removed and accounts may be warned, suspended, or terminated.
- Hate speech, slurs, or content that demeans people based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, age, or other protected characteristics.
- Harassment, threats, stalking, doxxing, or coordinated attacks on individuals.
- Sexually explicit content, gratuitous violence, or content that exploits or endangers minors.
- Impersonation of any person, restaurant, brand, or public figure.
- False or misleading reviews — including reviews of places you haven't actually visited, paid reviews you haven't disclosed, or reviews intended to harm a competitor.
- Posts depicting food you didn't actually eat (stock photos, AI-generated images presented as real meals, or photos lifted from other people's posts).
- Spam, scams, pyramid schemes, multi-level marketing pitches, or unauthorized promotion.
- Content that promotes illegal activity, including the sale of controlled substances or unlicensed food businesses.
- Sharing other users' personal information (addresses, phone numbers, etc.) without their consent.
- Attempts to circumvent our rate limits, scraping protections, or other technical safeguards.
Restaurants, Reviews, and Ratings
Reviews + dish ratings are a core part of how the community helps each other choose where to eat. Some specific rules:
- Only review places you've actually been. Self-promotion (rating your own restaurant) and competitor sabotage (rating to harm a rival) are removable offenses.
- Be specific about what was good or bad. "Bad service" is less useful than "the kitchen was 45 min behind on a Tuesday at 7."
- Distinguish opinion from fact. "I didn't like the texture" is fair; "this restaurant gave me food poisoning" is a serious claim that should only be posted if true (and reported to your local health authority).
- Owners + staff: do not pose as anonymous diners. Identifying yourself when responding to a review is fine and welcomed.
AI-Generated Content
Servd uses AI to generate restaurant briefs and dish recommendations. These are clearly attributed in the UI ("BY CONCIERGE"). Do not present AI-generated text as your own original review, and do not use AI to mass-generate reviews or comments designed to look human.
Reporting and Blocking
Every user-generated post and comment in Servd can be reported via the actions menu on that content. Reports are reviewed by our team within 48 hours. You can also block another user at any time from their profile — blocked users can no longer see your posts, send you friend requests, or invite you to TONIGHT sessions.
Repeat offenders or severe single violations result in account suspension or permanent removal. We do not pre-moderate every post; we rely on community reporting + automated systems to surface problems.
Account Actions
Depending on the severity and history of a violation, we may take any of the following actions:
- Remove the offending content.
- Issue a warning notice to the account.
- Temporarily suspend the account from posting.
- Permanently terminate the account and ban the user.
- In cases of immediate harm or illegal activity, we may report to law enforcement.
Appeals
If your content was removed or your account was actioned and you believe it was a mistake, you may appeal by emailing support@aspirecore.com from the email address associated with your account. Include your handle, the action taken, and any context that helps us reconsider. Appeals are reviewed by a human within 10 business days.
Restaurant + Brand Owners
If you operate a restaurant featured in the Service:
- You may use your verified business account to respond publicly to reviews. Do not engage in personal arguments with reviewers.
- You may not retaliate against reviewers (e.g., contacting them outside the Service to pressure a review change). We treat retaliation as a serious violation.
- If a review is factually false (claims something that did not happen, names you in connection with an event that did not occur), report it via the contact below. We investigate and remove material that violates these guidelines.
Contact
Report content via the in-app actions menu (fastest). For policy questions or appeals, email support@aspirecore.com.
